Improve transport vessel design

Shipbuilders of the XVIII century started applying new technologies enabling to increase the hull durability. First of all, this was increase in the number of ribs and thickness of each second rib. Special onboard ship-of-the-line repair crews appeared, as well as more attention was now paid to maintenance and repairs of ships in docks.
